Royal Mughal Silk Carpet

Two weavers spend close to nine months on a single six-by-nine piece. The vine work is drawn from Mughal court arabesques and knotted at 324 knots per square inch on a silk foundation, a density that lets the palmettes hold their curve rather than stepping. The pile is clipped short so the silk catches light directionally: the carpet reads gold from one end of a room and olive from the other. Sold made-to-order with a signed provenance certificate.
